Activities:

The DIABETES LAB is dedicated to the development of technologies in the field of studies on diabetes (type 1, type 2 and gestational), metabolism and endocrinology.
Activities of the lab include:

  • modeling and simulation of physiological systems related to metabolism and immunometabolism aimed at the creation of “digital twins”
  • analysis of data from continuous glucose monitoring (CGM)
  • development of decision support systems through machine-learning techniques for the prevention of short- and long-term complications of diabetic pathology (such as hypoglycemia due to physical exercise and diabetic retinopathy)
  • development of methods aimed at personalizing the treatment (such as those for the quantification of individual insulin bioavailability).
