Activities:

The main activities of the laboratory consist of:

  • design of embedded systems
  • implementation of neural networks, specifically designed to be integrated into embedded systems
  • machine learning on microcontrollers (i.e., artificial intelligence on edge, neural networks with reduced memory occupancy)
  • optimization of algorithms on microcontrollers, edge computing
  • signal processing (images, voice, biosignals, ..)
  • acquisition and analysis of biosignals for the recognition of human activity and various pathologies.

The laboratory is equipped with various electronic boards for development, testing and prototyping, additional peripherals (accelerometers, gyroscopes, PPG, EMG sensors, RGB and FLIR cameras), as well as some commonly used measurement instruments.
