Project details
Title:
Vertical Airport for all
Acronym:
VERTIcALL
Type:
Regional
Start Date:
August 1, 2024
End Date:
January 31, 2026
Principal Investigator:
UNIVPM Unit Responsible, Prof. Andrea Bonci
Keywords:
Vertical take-off and landing aircraft, drones, air taxis
Description:
The proposed project involves the study and development of an innovative infrastructure/surface equipped for vertical take-off and landing called Vertiport (VP) of electric-powered vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL, see EASA SC-VTOL-01) which consist of cargo drones for the transport of goods and real two-seater air taxis (pilot + passenger). This is an innovative plug & play VP, composed of tiles and loading ramps made of plastic polymer material appropriately connected in order to host an electronic infrastructure capable of facilitating the take-off and landing of both air taxis and cargo drones operated autonomously.
Objectives:
Create an innovative plug & play Vertiport (VP), composed of tiles and loading ramps made of plastic polymer material appropriately connected in order to host an electronic infrastructure capable of facilitating the take-off and landing of both air taxis and cargo drones operated autonomously.
Application Contexts:
Provide the aviation sector of an innovative infrastructure/surface equipped for vertical take-off and landing called Vertiport (VP) of electric-powered vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL, see EASA SC-VTOL-01) which consist of cargo drones for the transport of goods and real two-seater air taxis (pilot + passenger).
Expected Results:
Infrastructure/surface equipped for vertical take-off and landing of electric-powered vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
Achivied Results:
Infrastructure/surface equipped for vertical take-off and landing of electric-powered vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
