Her research interests include video coding and computer vision in AAL applications and analysis of spreading sequences for communication and radar applications.
Susanna Spinsante was born in Osimo (Italy) in 1976. She received her Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications in 2005, and her Laurea Degree (with honor) in Electronic Engineering in 2002, from the Marche Polytechnic University. Since December 2005, she has been a research fellow in the Telecommunication Group of the same University, where she still works. In 2004/2005 she spent a semester at the Department of Informatics of the University of Bergen (NORWAY), where she awarded a fellowship for a research activity on iterative coding issues for asymmetric channels, in the framework of the FP6 European project "FASTSEC: Marie Curie Training Site on coding theory and cryptography" (contract n° HPMT-GH-01-00260-10). She has held temporary teaching positions at Marche Polytechnic University and at the University of Trento. She is IEEE Senior Member, co-founder and CEO of the spinoff company ArieLAB Srl.
