Innovation is a key factor for fostering firm productivity and a key driver to success in a world of increasing competition. Innovation is also changing the way firms organize, produce, and collaborate, and it is increasingly becoming a strategic tool for them to face competitors.
The research activities of the Innovation area at the CII are focused on the understanding of the determinates of innovation and how regional factors may impact on innovation activities of firms.
A special focus is dedicated to the way innovation is changing the business model of firms in traditional sectors (textile and clothing, leather, agri-food, etc…).
