Capsule Bio
Francesca Pia Villani was born in San Giovanni Rotondo (FG), Italy, on March 12, 1993.
In July 2020, she earned her Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Università Politecnica delle Marche, with a thesis focused on the development of an augmented reality system based on marker tracking for robotic-assisted minimally invasive spine surgery.
In June 2024, she received a PhD cum laude in Humanism and Technologies from the University of Macerata, with a thesis titled “Unveiling healthcare data archiving: Exploring the role of artificial intelligence in medical image analysis”.
Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Information Engineering of the Università Politecnica delle Marche, where she works on developing artificial intelligence solutions for medical image analysis, including endoscopic images, magnetic resonance images, ultrasound images, and computed tomography images.
