Knowledge Discovery and Management | |
Description The research group on Knowledge Discovery and Management develops activities on models, systems, and methodologies for the management and analysis of (Big) Data with special emphasis on distributed and collaborative settings. In particular the group is focused on the the development of semantic models and knowledge graphs for the semantic enrichment of structured objects, like Data Mining models, processes, and Key Performance Indicators, to support sharing, integration and analysis of heterogeneous resources. The group has gained years of experience in the data mining field, ranging from pre-processing to machine learning techniques for unbalanced data and cost-sensitive learning, to deep learning, as well as in the emerging fields of process discovery from event logs and sentiment analysis. The group has competences on systems and query languages for relational and NoSQL databases, and and on high performance computing systems for management and querying of Big Data, like Hadoop and Spark. |
