Research Area

  • Title:
Smart sensors, measurement systems and methods for physical quantities in industrial applications

  • Keywords:

in-line inspection, quality control, predictive maintenance, NVH, measurement data transmission, electrical measurements

  • Description:

Research focuses on the design and performance evaluation of smart measurement systems based on heterogeneous sensors (either commercial ones or custom-made), to enable monitoring functionalities in diverse industry-related applications and products. Smart sensor systems need to be characterized and qualified under uncertainty and accuracy perspective, to provide reliable measurements with associated confidence level, upon which different information-based applications may be designed. Studied and proposed solutions and measurement methods may be applied in quality control, in-line inspection, predictive maintenance services and solutions.
