Capsule Bio
Mariachiara Di Cosmo (B.Sc. 2016, M.Sc, 2020) was born in Campobasso (CB) on 20th December 1993. She graduated cum laude in Biomedical Engineering at Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy) in July 2020, with a thesis entitled: “Deep learning based 2D-3D registration for augmented visualization in Image Guided Surgery”. The thesis resulted from the research activities conducted during 6 months as research fellow at the applied research center Vicomtech (San Sebastian, Spain) . The research was focused on the development of novel image fusion algorithms to improve endovascular Imaged Guided Surgery, employing patient-specific deep learning based 2D/3D image registration.
Currently she is a PhD student at Universita` Politecnica delle Marche, in the Department of Information Engineering, working on deep learning and machine learning methods in the biomedical field.
Research Areas:
Her research topics include supervised and semi-supervised Deep Learning techniques for medical image analysis.
