Maria Chiara Fiorentino, originally from Macerata (Italy), completed her Master’s in Biomedical Engineering at Università Politecnica delle Marche, graduating with honors. Her thesis, focused on creating a detection system for Parkinson’s disease dyskinesia using consumer electronics, received the Paolo Marziali Thesis Prize.
She got a Ph.D. in Information Engineering with laude, where her research, “DL4US: Unlocking the Potential of Deep Learning for Ultrasound Image Analysis,” aimed at enhancing ultrasound imaging with deep learning, was awarded by the Gruppo Nazionale di Bioingegneria (National Association of Italian Bioengineering).
Dr. Fiorentino is now a post-doc researcher, working on designing artificial intelligence algorithms for medical image analysis.
Research Areas:
Deep Learning for Medical Image Analysis including Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance and Computed tomography.
