Capsule Bio

Crescenzo Pepe received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer and Automation Engineering from Università Politecnica delle Marche, in 2010 and 2013. He received the Ph.D. degree (2017) in Information Engineering from the same university, working with a company. He was professor at secondary and high school. He was a control/automation engineer/researcher in different companies. He was one of the inventors (research, development, publications, patents, application to real case studies, project management, project maintenance, technical coordination, technical supervision, training of internal and external resources) of different advanced process control solutions for industrial and non-industrial processes. He participated to more than 20 advanced process control projects and he is co-author of more than 40 scientific publications and of two Italian patents. He is reviewer, editor and topical board member for different conferences and journals. He is member or affiliate of different federations, scientific societies and communities. Currently he is a Research Fellow and an Adjunct Professor at Università Politecnica delle Marche. His main interests are control theory and applications and industrial automation.

Research Areas:

The research is aimed at studying and developing Industry 4.0 solutions for monitoring, optimization and predictive maintenance in industrial processes. Current research topics are advanced process control, model predictive control and process modelling. Current application areas cover steel industry, cement industry, water distribution networks, HVAC, hydroelectric power plants, district heating, oil & gas processes, industrial cooking processes, cold storage refrigeration processes.
