Capsule Bio
Andrea Serafini was born in Pescara on 28th December 1996. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering from Università Politecnica delle Marche in July 2021, submitting a thesis titled “Firmware Development for the Creation of a Bluetooth LE Network of Sensors for Monitoring the Movement of Non Self-Sufficient People” Subsequently, he enrolled in the Master’s Degree program in Computer and Automation Engineering at Università Politecnica delle Marche. During this period, he developed a strong interest in fault maintenance collaborating, through the Erasmus+ Traineeship program, with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where he deepened his knowledge in fault diagnosis and prognosis.
He completed his Master’s Degree with honors in October 2024, defending a thesis titled “Study and Implementation of a Method for Diagnosis and Prognosis of Faults Combining Structural Analysis and Data-Driven Techniques”.
Thanks to winning a doctoral scholarship with project titled “Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Robotics and Edge Computing for Versatile and Efficient Manufacturing 5.0”, Andrea has been a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Information Engineering (Informatics, Management, and Automatics Engineering curriculum) of Università Politecnica delle Marche since November 2024. His research focuses on developing new approaches for integrating artificial intelligence into edge computing systems, with applications in the context of Industry 5.0.
