Capsule Bio

Laura Falaschetti received the B.Sc. and the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy), in 2008 and 2012 respectively.
She received a Ph.D. degree in Information Engineering (final grade: Outstanding), curriculum in Electronic, Biomedical and Telecommunications Engineering, from Università Politecnica delle Marche, in 2017, with a thesis entitled “Sistemi di interazione vocale per la domotica” (“Speech interaction systems for home automation”).
She collaborated as research fellow with the Department of Information Engineering (DII) at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, from 2012 to 2013.
Since 2017 she is a postdoctoral research fellow at the same Department (DII).
Since 2017 she is a contract professor for the course “Sistemi Elettronici” (“Electronic Systems”), at Electronic and Biomedical Engineering, Università Politecnica delle Marche.
She has been session chair of the special session “Statistical Learning for Decision Making Pattern Recognition” at International Conference on Knowledge-Based and Intelligent Information & Engineering Systems (KES 2016).
She serves as a reviewer for some international journals and conferences.

Her main research activities include embedded systems, machine learning, manifold learning, pattern recognition, neural networks, signal processing, speech recognition, speaker identification, speech synthesis, image processing, carbon nanotube-based electronic components.
