Description:
DANTE is an innovative project supporting the digital transition of SMEs, public administrations, and professionals in the fields of active and healthy aging, Ambient Assisted Living (AAL), and smart living environments. By fostering technology transfer and social innovation, DANTE strengthens the European network of Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs).
The project aims to improve the daily lives of elderly people and individuals with disabilities, enhance support for caregivers, optimize healthcare and social services, and facilitate communication between public administrations and citizens. Co-funded by the Digital Europe Programme and the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy under the PNRR, DANTE delivers a structured set of services through four key work packages: project management, service design, service delivery, and communication.
The Università Politecnica delle Marche plays a central role in ensuring quality, developing Living Labs, offering advanced training, and promoting the project through scientific and public dissemination.
Objectives:
The DANTE project aims to accelerate the digital transition of SMEs, public administrations, and professionals working in active and healthy aging, Ambient Assisted Living, and smart living sectors. Its primary goal is to facilitate access to advanced digital solutions that improve the autonomy, safety, and quality of life of elderly people and individuals with disabilities, while also supporting caregivers with digital tools and continuous monitoring systems. DANTE seeks to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of social and healthcare services, promote cross-border communication among public administrations, and foster the adoption of digital technologies.
The project provides companies and public entities with services such as technology testing, advanced training, and co-design opportunities. It also contributes to strengthening the European Digital Innovation Hub network, supporting the sharing of knowledge, best practices, and strategic partnerships at national and international levels.
Application Contexts:
DANTE operates in application domains that address key societal challenges related to active and healthy aging, Ambient Assisted Living, and smart living environments. The project focuses on developing and promoting digital solutions that enhance the daily lives of elderly people and individuals with disabilities, providing support in terms of safety, health monitoring, social inclusion, and independence. These solutions also empower caregivers, both professional and informal, by offering digital tools for continuous assistance and real-time data access. Public administrations and healthcare providers benefit from DANTE’s services, which contribute to improving operational efficiency, service quality, and citizen engagement.
DANTE’s interventions are particularly relevant in healthcare, social care, smart homes, and intelligent public spaces, where technology can significantly improve life quality and enable innovative, user-centered services.
Expected Results:
DANTE is expected to deliver tangible results that support the digital transformation of SMEs, public administrations, and professionals in the fields of active aging, AAL, and smart living. The project will create an accessible catalogue of high-quality digital services, including technology testing, training, and support for technology adoption. It will promote the development and validation of user-centered solutions through Living Labs and co-design activities.
DANTE will enhance the digital skills of companies and public bodies, fostering the uptake of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, assistive devices, and cybersecurity solutions. The project will strengthen cross-sector collaboration and contribute to the growth of the European EDIH network. Ultimately, DANTE will improve the autonomy and quality of life of elderly people and individuals with disabilities, support caregivers, and optimize social and healthcare services, achieving measurable impacts on society and the economy.
